The war of talent: The youngsters of Chhattisgarh were all prepped up for a face-off at the premises of Shankaracharya Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET) when students participating from various colleges of Raipur, Durg and Bhilai battled it out at the inter-zonal cultural fest organised by Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University (CSVTU). The campus was abuzz with activities as the talented lot of the state showcased their prowess with songs and dance sequences under the scanner of judges, who had a tough time deciding upon the winners.Dance Mania: The dance group of Chhatrapati Shivaji Institute of Technology (CSIT) stole the show with their torch-themed dance act on mash-up music. “We practiced for four-five days for the performance and I feel we could have done better. But we really enjoyed this fest,” said Nitish Upadhyay, a student at CSIT. The students also put up a great show to raise their voice against child labour, which was applauded by the audience. “It worked well and I am happy that our efforts paid off,” exclaimed Abhilasha. PB Deshmukh, director, SIET, said, “This state-level fest has brought together the talent pool of Chhattisgarh. The performances took me back to my college days.
I feel nostalgic.”
And the winners are: The first prize for group dance was bagged by Swati and Group from SIET, while Anjali from BIT College took home the first prize in solo dance competition. In solo and group singing competitions,
Nikita from CSIT and Nitisha and Group from SIET respectively, got lucky.
